Caloundra Music Festival

May 2007

This project was undertaken for Six Degrees Creative .

Black Dot Digital was given a total of five working days to transform the stunning design work from Six Degrees Creative into a fully functioning content managed application.

The site was to be standards driven to comply with local government regulations and contained some heavy lifting behind the scenes.

Six Degrees designs converted well to CSS/XHTML and we were able to extend our CMS of choice, the open source ColdFusion FarCry, to provide all the custom functions required by the client.

The most powerful feature involves the collection and display of artists information on the site.

Artists interested in playing at the festival are invited to upload their details with digital music files, photos and bios etc. These are captured directly into the Farcry CMS database and upon approval by the Festival Comittee can easily be added as live content to the site. This centralised data collection saves much of the work when collecting this supporting material for publication to the site.

Potential Vendors and Volunteers are also invited to access the site to register their interest providing a database record of interested parties.

Standard Farcry features such as news, events and fact were all employed to power the sites media, program and sponsors areas.
