Wine Tasting Notes Flex Application

Black Dot Digital are happy to announce that our first ever "Flex 2" application was announced as runner up in the "Product configurators / self-service guided applications" category of the Adobe Australian Flex Developer Derby.

The winners can be viewed here and our runners up entry can be viewed here. This application is an early prototype of a membership based wine tasting notes storage, searching and sharing system.

Club members can add their own notes and view other's opinions in what our client hopes will grow to be a very large database. Flex 2 is the perfect platform for this kind of application. One outstanding example is the "cascading" nature of the search criteria. The search options are populated and filtered in a much more elegant way than traditional HTML based web applications.

Flex 2 ushers in a new generation of online development and will enable our clients to deliver applications via the web with the user experience of a more traditional desktop program. From the Adobe website:
